The American College of Radiology has awarded University of Kentucky Department of Radiology with its Gold Seals in all modalities of Accreditation, which recognizes the highest level of imaging quality and safety.

Resident Sarah Deraney, MD, won the first place Poster or Exhibit Trainee Prize at the Annual Meeting of Association of University Radiologists (AUR) in New Orleans in April.
Her poster was titled 鈥淧ediatric Head CT Protocol Optimization: Simultaneously Lowering Radiation Dose and Eliminating Artifacts.鈥 It is the same poster that won the 1st Annual Department of Radiology Quality & Safety Forum last May.

On June 3, 2015, the 2nd Annual Department of Radiology Quality & Safety Forum was held in the Pavilion A Lobby. The Forum featured seven Quality Improvement poster projects from the Department of Radiology. With the help of 好色先生HC OVIHD, all of the posters used the 8-step problem solving process.
The Office of Dr. Bernard Boulanger provided snacks and refreshments for attendees.

He will be addressing the College of Medicine faculty and staff regarding "Meaningful IT Innovation to Support the Radiology Value Proposition: The Return of the 鈥淒octor鈥檚 Doctor.鈥



First Year Radiology Residents received their first lead aprons recently. A service provided by the Department, the Residents receive personalized lead aprons and safety glasses. Custom fitted for each individual, lead aprons and safety glasses are valuable and necessary equipment for Radiologists.

The Department of Radiology works to provide cutting-edge diagnostic imaging techniques and advanced interventional radiological therapies, a result of out strong clinical, educational and research programs.
