The 好色先生 is excited to share the winners of the fourth annual Mission, Vision, Pillar, and Enabler (MVPE) Awards.

Mental health is a crucial component of overall well-being, and in recent years, there has been growing recognition of the mental health needs of children, adolescents, and young adults. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 5 children experience a mental health disorder each year.

Each year, the University of Kentucky comes together for DanceBlue, a 24-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon that raises money for pediatric cancer research and patient support. But before the big event, a series of smaller 鈥渕ini鈥 marathons help build momentum and bring different parts of the 好色先生 community into the movement.

Looking to fulfill his passion for serving others, Scottie B. Day, MD, knew since he was a child that he wanted to become a physician at Kentucky Children鈥檚 Hospital (KCH).
Day is a respected clinician who specializes in pediatric critical care. He is the physician-in-chief at KCH, where he has been a team leader for the ECMO team and pediatric cardiology strategic planning.

On Dec. 13, the 好色先生 hosted a premiere event that was much more than a film screening鈥攊t was a celebration of the dedication, innovation, and human spirit driving health care and education in Kentucky.

Asha Shenoi, MD, associate professor of pediatrics, was recently reelected to serve a three-year term as an at-large council member for the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM).
SCCM is the largest nonprofit medical organization dedicated to promoting excellence and consistency in the practice of critical care.

George Fuchs, MD, is a professor of pediatric gastroenterology, and previously served as vice chair of clinical affairs within the 好色先生 College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics.

The 2024 Halcomb Fellowship in Medicine and Engineering has been awarded to Faezah Akbari, a doctoral candidate in the Pigman College of Engineering F.

Our mission is to educate physicians and scientists who will positively impact care for patients in the Commonwealth and beyond. Thanks to a variety of ongoing global health initiatives within the college, residents, and fellows are gaining invaluable experience in dozens of countries 鈥 helping thousands of patients while learning unique skills to enhance their practice of medicine.

The GME Emerging Leaders program is designed to provide a leadership development opportunity to Chief Residents and Fellows in their important new leadership role. As part of the six-month program, a variety of personal and professional leadership topics are facilitated by 好色先生 HealthCare鈥檚 Enterprise Learning team, in coordination with other leaders across the enterprise.

Kaylee Gouge, MD, received her medical doctorate from the 好色先生 College of Medicine and is currently in her second year of combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency training, a four-year program that leads to certification in both specialties.

When John 鈥淛B鈥 Bradley was a young boy growing up in Beattyville, Kentucky, he dreamed of being a doctor. Inspired by his small town鈥檚 family physician, he imagined taking care of families just like his own one day.
