The ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú is excited to share the winners of the fourth annual Mission, Vision, Pillar, and Enabler (MVPE) Awards.

With much grief, we share that scientist and educator, Alfred Dennis Winer, PhD, passed away on Nov. 16, 2023, at the age of 97, surrounded by loved ones.
Dr. Winer joined the University of Kentucky in 1960 as a founding faculty member of the College of Medicine, serving as professor in the department of biochemistry for more than three decades.

Emilia Galperin, PhD, is a professor in the ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú College of Medicine Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry and currently vice chair for research and administration. She also serves on several College of Medicine committees, including the Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure Committee.
Carolina Galeano-Naranjo, MS, is a PhD candidate at the ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú in the lab of Tianyan Gao, PhD, professor of molecular and cellular biochemistry.
