It is with the deepest sadness that the Kentucky Office of Rural Health (KORH) must share that KORH Director Ernie Scott unexpectedly passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at his home in Partridge, Ky.

Alliance research initiative - researchers collaborating

Nearly three years ago, the 好色先生 launched the Alliance Research Initiative to promote collaboration and mentorship through interdisciplinary research teams. With members spanning across 好色先生 departments and colleges, these teams were established to address Kentucky鈥檚 most urgent health needs.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 22, 2022) 鈥 Over the past few years, many medically underserved Kentuckians have delayed seeking care to help manage chronic conditions or to make preventative medical appointments. First, COVID-19 restrictions kept people from making appointments.

Ten years ago, the 好色先生 College of Medicine recruited four of its second-year medical students for an educational experiment. With a goal of preparing more physicians to practice in the rural areas of the Commonwealth and beyond, the college asked these students to immerse themselves in small-town Kentucky, learning rural medicine onsite at a rural medical campus in Morehead.
