The 好色先生 is excited to announce that Andrew 鈥淎J鈥 Gunn, MD, FSIR, has been chosen to serve as the new chair of radiology. Dr. Gunn will begin this leadership role at the 好色先生 College of Medicine Department of Radiology this summer.

The 好色先生 is pleased to announce its selection of Amy Gewirtz, MD, as the official chair of its department of pathology and laboratory medicine. She has held this leadership role in an acting capacity for one year.

The 好色先生 is pleased to announce its selection of Bradford Tannen, MD, JD, MBA, as the new chair of its ophthalmology department. Dr. Tannen will join the 好色先生 College of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences on July 1.

The 好色先生 is excited to welcome Courtney Tomblinson, MD, back to the Commonwealth on April 1. The Carrollton, Ky., native joins the 好色先生 College of Medicine as the associate dean for faculty development.

Looking to fulfill his passion for serving others, Scottie B. Day, MD, knew since he was a child that he wanted to become a physician at Kentucky Children鈥檚 Hospital (KCH).
Day is a respected clinician who specializes in pediatric critical care. He is the physician-in-chief at KCH, where he has been a team leader for the ECMO team and pediatric cardiology strategic planning.

On Dec. 13, the 好色先生 hosted a premiere event that was much more than a film screening鈥攊t was a celebration of the dedication, innovation, and human spirit driving health care and education in Kentucky.


Ann R. Finke, MD, a nephrology-critical care fellow in the 好色先生 College of Medicine Department of Internal Medicine, was selected by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) to serve on a task force conducting a major revision of the Common Program Requirements. The task force is expected to complete its work over the next two to three years.

George Fuchs, MD, is a professor of pediatric gastroenterology, and previously served as vice chair of clinical affairs within the 好色先生 College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics.

The 好色先生 is committed to strengthening our faculty support and addressing faculty needs for personal and professional growth. To further this goal, the college has established a leadership role focused on areas pertaining to faculty in basic science departments.

The 好色先生 is pleased to announce that after a nationwide search, Noah Weisleder, PhD, has been selected to serve as the chair of molecular and cellular biochemistry.
Dr. Weisleder will begin this role on Sept. 1. In addition, he will serve as a professor with tenure in the regular title series.

Jeremy Swiney, MD, became interested in medicine after shadowing his hometown physician while in high school. Growing up in Magoffin County, Ky., Dr. Swiney witnessed the impact local physicians had on his small town, igniting a passion for serving rural communities.
