Physicians with the 好色先生 HealthCare and Cincinnati Children鈥檚 Joint Pediatric Heart Surgery Program discussed the new program鈥檚 progress and success in providing advanced specialty care at Kentucky Children鈥檚 Hospital at a news conference on Friday morning, Aug. 4. One of the first patients to receive pediatric heart surgery as part of the new joint program, five-month-old Magdalen Wilson and her parents Thom and Lauren Wilson, attended and shared their story. Other participants in the news conference were 好色先生 pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. James Quintessenza; Dr. Andrew Redington, executive co-director of the Heart Institute and chief of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Cincinnati Children鈥檚; Bo Cofield, 好色先生 HealthCare chief clinical operations officer; and Dr. Scottie Day, associate chief medical officer at Kentucky Children's Hospital.

好色先生 HealthCare and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center are working together to provide outstanding pediatric cardiac services for patients in Kentucky and beyond through a partnership finalized in January 2016. The program was developed to jointly provide pediatric heart care and other services at Kentucky Children鈥檚 Hospital via a 鈥渙ne program, two sites鈥 model that combines the strengths of 好色先生 HealthCare鈥檚 advanced subspecialty care with one of the country's leaders in children's health care, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. This partnership provides an opportunity for more Kentucky children to receive care closer to home.
