Research Engagement and Care

Many with memory and/or other thinking problems have already been given a diagnosis and are on optimal care for their symptoms and dementia type and are looking to explore possible new experimental medicines that may help them directly and/or have the possibility of helping future generations through research engagement.

New improved medicines, albeit still experimental, can often be added to anti-amyloid therapies for those with Alzheimer鈥檚 and there are several options for this purpose. Ther are also many options for those that are normal on their memory and thinking tests but may be at risk for dementia in the future, and for those that may have other types of dementia such as Vascular Cognitive Impairment (鈥淗ardening of the arteries鈥 or post stroke dementia), Lewy Body disease or Parkinsonian syndromes, and Limbic-associated, Age-related, TDP-43 encephalopathy (LATE) among others.

Patients participating in research studies will receive periodic research evaluations, depending on the specific research protocol. We will arrange your clinical care through our research concierge service that can expedite appointments and provide regular communication to maximize the care you and or your loved one receives. This can help provide an enhanced level of care; however, this does not substitute for regular clinical care. Our physicians are specialists and do not offer primary care but encourage close communication with your private physicians. Our specialists will be happy to share clinical research findings with your physician, if requested. Your research information is otherwise completely private and confidential.

To bypass delays in routine clinical care evaluations, if you already have a diagnosis and are seeking research engagement, please contact us at (859) 323-5550.
