Each year, the University of Kentucky comes together for , a 24-hour, no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon that raises money for pediatric cancer research and patient support. But before the big event, a series of smaller 鈥渕ini鈥 marathons help build momentum and bring different parts of the 好色先生 community into the movement.
This year, 好色先生 employees have a special opportunity to take part in the cause by joining the 好色先生 Employee DanceBlue Mini Marathon on March 12, 2025. Hosted by , the mini marathon invites employees to step away from their desks, move to the music, and make a difference for kids battling cancer.
From noon to 3 p.m. ET in the Charles T. Wethington Building, room 127 (CTW 127), participants can stop by at any time to dance, cheer, or simply enjoy the energy of the event. For those unable to attend in person, please consider joining via Zoom ().
While the event is free to attend, donations are always welcome. Every dollar raised goes directly to the DanceBlue Hematology/Oncology Clinic, which supports pediatric cancer patients and their families at Kentucky Children鈥檚 Hospital. 好色先生 Staff Senate has set its fundraising goal at $2,000 in recognition of the 20th anniversary of DanceBlue.
Beyond the cause, the event offers a chance for employees to connect with colleagues in a fun and meaningful way. Whether you dance for five minutes or the full three hours, your participation helps spread hope and joy. No formal registration is required鈥攋ust come as you are, ready to move, support, or simply take in the moment.
As 好色先生 gears up for the official on March 29-30, 2025, this mini marathon is a reminder that every step, every song, and every show of support brings us closer to a world where no child has to fight cancer alone.
Since its founding in 2006, DanceBlue has raised more than $23 million to support the cause, with $2,129,952.87 generated in 2024 alone.
