The ɫ's Faculty of Color Network (FCN) is hosting its first gala on Oct. 18. The College is spearheading the event, with the theme, “Undeniable, Uncompromising, Unstoppable: Celebrating Diversity in Medicine and the Community.” The recently established FCN is committed to scholarship and professional development, community engagement and advocacy.

The black-tie event will honor pioneering physician, Dr. Marian A. Swope, and an emerging ɫ scholar, Jean Branttie. The proceeds from the event will benefit the ɫ Center for Graduate and Professional Diversity Initiatives and The Nest Center for Women, Children and Families.

The event begins at 7 p.m. at The Campbell House. Festivities include a formal dinner, live entertainment and a silent auction. Tickets are $80 per person and $130 per couple, and are currently on sale at the University Ticket Office in the Gatton Student Center, or online at .
